Our founder

Jay Alix founded AlixPartners in Detroit in 1981, quickly building a reputation for innovation in the restructuring industry. Over the following years he leveraged expertise initially gained in the automotive sector to build a platform for further growth into new service and industry areas as part of his vision to create a different kind of mutidisciplinary consulting firm.

Today, over 40 years later, Jay’s entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to action, and focus on client service are reflected in what is now a business of over 2,500 people around the globe, serving many of the world’s most recognized corporations and their stakeholders.
