AlixPartners names transformation expert Jim Takach as a managing director in its TMT practice

NEW YORK (October 29, 2018) – AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, announced today that transformation expert Jim Takach has joined the firm as a Managing Director in its Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice. He will be based in AlixPartners’ Los Angeles office.

Jim brings with him years of hands-on industry experience plus more than 21 years of consulting experience, and he has deep expertise in large-scale transformations, mergers and acquisitions, and operations. Throughout his career, he has helped companies achieve significant financial benefits through new operating models and step-change improvements to operational capabilities.  He also brings extensive experience managing global projects and in leading projects based outside the United States, including in Southeast Asia, South Korea, Mexico, India, and Europe.

Prior to joining AlixPartners, Jim ran his own consulting company, Aspect Consulting LLC, where his client work included an operational transformation for a technology company based in Hong Kong and a global initiative for a Swedish company to significantly improve operating expense and working capital.  Before that, he was senior vice president of client services and program management for delivery operations at Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc. in Burbank, California. In that role, he initiated a new model to improve service and reduce the cost of support for the company’s studio and “over-the-top” customers by better leveraging global capabilities, and he also helped develop a roadmap to integrate the company’s delivery operations, digital cinema, and localization client services worldwide, and then supported the launch of that major initiative. 

From 2011 to 2017, Jim was a principal at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC (PwC) and for 15 years before that, he worked at PRTM Management Consultants Inc., which was acquired by PwC, most recently as a partner.  At both companies, he focused on telecommunications, technology, and retail clients.

Jim holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
