Director, New York
AlixPartners announced today that Consulting Magazine has named Josiah Brand one of the 2017 Rising Stars of the Profession. Brand, a Director of the Turnaround and Restructuring Services (TRS) Practice of AlixPartners, will be recognized at an awards ceremony with his fellow nominees in Chicago on April 27th.
Brand recently worked on an assignment for The Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) where he led a team responsible for cash flow and liquidity modeling. He also led the operational transformation work stream, which modernized and standardized the authority’s procurement, warehouses, and vehicle fleet.
In the March 2017 issue in which the Rising Stars were announced, Consulting Magazine noted about Brand, “clients have complimented his ability to build positive, trusting relationships. He effectively anticipates potential challenges and has a natural curiosity that keeps him learning and eagerly addressing new challenges.”
Brand joined AlixPartners in 2013 from Ernst & Young, where he was a Manager of the Enterprise Intelligence Group in London. Prior to that, he served as a combat engineer platoon commander in the United States Marines Corps for four years. During that time, he served in Indonesia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, East Timor and Iraq.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with concentrations in finance and accounting and a minor in US history from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. While at U Penn, he was a two-year letter winner in varsity baseball.
