AlixPartners adds top expert witness to growing Investigations, Disputes & Advisory Services team

LONDON (11th September 2025) – AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, today announced that it has appointed Ian Clemmence, a highly respected expert witness, as a Partner & Managing Director in the Investigations, Disputes & Advisory Services team. Ian, who formerly led the UK Forensic Disputes practice at PwC, will be based in the firm’s London office.  

Bringing twenty-five years of experience in disputes, audit, investigation and statistical analysis work, Ian has a track record of testifying in investor-state and commercial arbitration, as well as in High Court litigation. Ian, who has been involved in over 175 cases throughout his career and has provided oral testimony on numerous occasions, also has experience of mediations, managing global investigations, corruption reviews and audits under UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP. 

At AlixPartners, Ian’s role will have a global remit and he will work closely with external partners at law firms to provide expert witness testimony in major international and cross-jurisdictional disputes.

Biography for Ian Clemmence 

Ian is a Partner & Managing Director in the Investigations, Disputes & Advisory Services team at AlixPartners. He was formerly a Partner at PwC, where he led the firm’s UK Forensic Disputes practice.  

Prior to joining PwC, Ian worked for a leading economic consultancy firm in London. He was also a Manager in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications division of Deloitte, where he completed his ACA qualification. Ian holds a degree in Economics from the University of Durham. 

Ian has over twenty years of disputes, audit, corporate finance, investigation, financial modelling, report writing and statistical analysis experience. He has managed the production of over 175 expert reports, focused on a range of issues across multiple industries and territories. Ian has been appointed as expert on numerous matters (both litigation and arbitration) and given oral evidence on a number of occasions in both national courts and in arbitration hearings. Ian also has experience of mediations, managing global investigations, corruption reviews and audits under UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP.
