Steffen is a Director in the German Turnaround & Restructuring Team. He advises clients on large operational and financial restructuring projects in volatile and fast-paced environments. Steffen provides clients with pragmatic and readily implementable solutions to their 'when it really matters' challenges. He drives the implementation with his hands-on approach, ensuring resilient, sustainable results for his clients.
Steffen has over a decade of consulting experience in restructuring, transformation and M&A situations across geographies and industries. His primary focus is on the Industrial Goods industry and the family business segment.
He is based in the AlixPartners Duesseldorf office and leads the family business segment in the DACH region. Furthermore, he is a member of the AlixPartners Industrial Goods and the Digital Working Capital Management specialist groups.
Selected project experience includes:
- Advised German family-owned industrial goods business on holistic turnaround of its two main segments, including efficiency increases (sales / operations), footprint optimization, procurement consolidation as well as organizational and cost efficiencies.
- Advised listed German industrial goods business on structural cost efficiency program. Drove implementation of identified potentials together with the client.
- Advised German infrastructure-driven business (private equity backed) on holistic transformation of its legal structure, operating business, cost structures and operational footprint.
- Advised German Chemicals client on short-term liquidity management and forecast as well as closure of mid-term financing gap with extensive stakeholder management.
- Advised US strategic automotive client on acquisition of Czech automotive supplier as base for future European expansion.
- Advised PE-backed Dutch healthcare client on refinancing / financial restructuring during COVID-19 crisis.
