Shea has more than 20 years of experience in management consulting, engineering, manufacturing, and quality in the global light-vehicle, commercial-vehicle (CV), and off-highway-equipment industries. His areas of expertise span product development and innovation, product strategy, and operational efficiency. Shea has worked extensively in both North America and Latin America. Before joining AlixPartners he was vice president of consulting at AVL.
Shea led negotiations to sell a NA OEM assembly plant and the contract manufacturing agreement for a tech company to take over production of EVs. Managed carve out of operational functions and transition of ~400 FTEs.
He managed a NA EV startup launch, serving as primary interface between Product Development and the assembly plant, culminating in successful homologation and commercial release for sale.
He served as Program Director for engineering and testing on a high-performance engine program recently launched by a global automotive OEM.
He led resolution of critical launch issues and communications with OEM customer for a high-performance transmission for a global Tier 1 transmission producer.
He benchmarked a NA OEM powertrain organization's development process, identifying opportunities for ~20% reduction in FTEs and ~50% reduction in prototypes.
He led the Quality organization for 7 sites at a commercial vehicle Tier 1 supplier, driving a 48% reduction in customer PPM in one year
