Tom works in international investigations and corporate compliance reviews in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. He has managed multiple independent compliance monitorships evaluating company controls for anti-bribery and corruption and financial crime compliance. 

He has also performed extensive process audits, assessments, and investigations for internal and external fraud; bribery and corruption issues; and regulatory compliance failures for financial institutions, international organizations, and multinational corporations. Tom has helped numerous clients design procedures and program enhancements to prevent and detect wrongdoings as well as to meet regulatory expectations. 

Tom has a JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

Key Engagements:

  • Managed an independent assessment of the BSA/AML/OFAC compliance program of a regulated crypto exchange. The review covered all aspects of the compliance program including transaction monitoring, KYC, OFAC/sanctions screening, governance, training, and risk assessment processes.
  • Managed an independent compliance monitorship to evaluate the ethics and compliance program of a large US retailer as required by a nonprosecution agreement with the US Department of Justice.
  • Conducted an internal investigation on behalf of the audit committee of an Italian company involving the acquisition of certain oil rights in Africa.
  • Coordinated review and reporting for the compliance program auditor of a large US logistics company after a nonprosecution agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice.
