Vance Scott is the co-leader in the Energy & Process Industries practice at AlixPartners, specializing in Oil, Chemicals and Energy. Approaching four decades of global industry and consulting experience, Vance, works with and through his clients, to deliver transformational change, merger integration, cost reduction, and strategic portfolio repositioning across global petroleum, energy, and minerals value chains. Known for his pragmatic approach and ability to deliver rapid results under pressure, he has worked extensively across North America, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

Prior to AlixPartners Vance led the EY-Parthenon Global Oil, Energy and Chemicals Practice and the A.T. Kearney Global Oil & Energy Practice where he specialized in Oil, Petrochemicals, Mining, and Power. Vance also served on the Kearney Board and chaired their finance committee. He brings pragmatic insight and expertise from sector roles as a Petroleum Engineer and Acquisitions Manager Chevron and Greenhill Petroleum.

Key Engagements:

  • Led one of the largest upstream unconventional resources (shale) mergers and drove integration across core operating functions including geology, geophysics, drilling, reservoir, production, facilities, field operations and leasehold management.
  • Drove merger and subsequent portfolio separation for a global petrochemical, specialty and agrochemical player delivering over $500 million in synergy value.
  • Led the supply chain transformation for a Middle Eastern petrochemical company, delivering $1+ billion NPV value across six global business units.
  • Served as a key leader in one of the largest and most complex utility restructuring efforts by taking point on capital projects, field operations, maintenance and supply chain operations.
  • For one of the largest National Oil Companies, led the merger diligence across all functions in commercial, manufacturing operations, supply chain, capital programs, SG&A and joint ventures as they evaluated a complex transaction for a major global petrochemical expansion.
  • Led a Board confidential effort for a global mining and metals extraction player covering operations, maintenance and capex reliability and safety practices.
  • Conducted the hydrocarbon reserves and import-export parity analysis for the IPO at one of the world’s largest National Oil Companies. Evaluated listing and value implications for numerous equity and debt exchanges.

Vance holds an M.Sc. in Operations Engineering and an MBA from Northwestern University, as well as a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
