AlixPartners has worked with clients around the world for nearly forty years, helping businesses respond to challenges when everything is on the line – from urgent performance improvement to complex restructuring, from risk mitigation to accelerated transformation.

Each project is different, but they all have one thing in common – a need for decisive, informed, and often urgent action. And because that need is at the heart of everything we do, it has come to shape every aspect of our business.

The way we work – with our clients, as well as each other – is as much a part of who we are as what we actually do. It’s what makes us different – and the partner of choice for some of the world’s most successful as well as some of the most challenged companies, when it really matterssm.

Experience from the start

We recruit the most highly qualified professionals in the business from a wide range of backgrounds, so when we take on a project, we bring diverse ideas and knowledge as well as specific industry experience and functional expertise to the table. But if we feel we can’t make a difference, or if we think there are other advisors who might be a better fit for what you need, we’ll say so up front. We’ll even point you in the right direction. We won’t just tell you what we think you want to hear – as trusted advisors to companies, business leaders, owners and boards, candor is one of our greatest assets.

Fast forward

Because we only work with clients when it really matters to them, time is often a factor – so we have to hit the ground running. Our people are assured problem-solvers, and our distinctive breadth and depth of experience means we’ve dealt with most situations before – which means we move quickly from analysis to action, working in small, agile teams.

On your side, at your side.

We’re not just in your corner. We’re in the ring with you. We work shoulder to shoulder with you to ensure the work we do is completely integrated with your vision, culture and formula for success.  You have invested time, energy, and experience into creating, growing, and managing your business, and while we bring a lot of experience to the table, we know it’s your table, and we feel privileged to sit at it with you.

A perfect fit

Working together also applies to the way we work at AlixPartners. We form bespoke teams for each project that can quickly draw upon talent from across our global network, which means we incorporate a richer range of thinking. So you have the right team at your side – not to mention a combination of resources you won’t find anywhere else.

A committed relationship

We measure our success in real terms – by the results we deliver, not just the advice we give. So unlike many consultancies, we don’t make recommendations and walk away – we stick around until the job is done. We’re accountable for a practical, sustainable outcome designed not just to help you succeed today, but to leave you ready to build on that success in future – when it really matters.

A Top Place to Work for Everyone

Our D&I strategy develops inclusive leaders and engages all employees to better serve our clients and give back to the communities in which we work.

What has always inspired me about our firm is how our people go straight to heart of the problem or opportunity. Our D&I journey is ongoing, and I'm proud of our success so far:

  • We increased gender and minority representation on our Board.
  • We updated our managing director recruiting and promotion processes, two of the biggest levers we have for increasing diversity at senior levels in the firm.
  • We have designed a centralized system to accurately track our progress on both diversity and inclusion, and have updated our performance management processes to increase leader and individual accountability on diversity and inclusion goals.
  • We continue to invest in our culture to foster an inclusive and  respectful workplace.
  • Our Employee Resource Groups engage employees in identifying ways to build diversity into our culture, business operations and processes.

In addition to well-being initiatives, mindfulness programs, coaching and mentoring, we run emotional resilience workshops and a variety of courses to ensure all of our people can develop to their ultimate potential irrespective of gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.

Our program centers on two key themes that are both aligned to our Core Values and priorities for any human capital business like ours: Belonging and being a Top Place to Work for Women.

The results of our annual surveys show that our people recognize that we are serious about inclusion, and that we are making a conscious effort to improve diversity. Where gaps and opportunities are identified, we develop targeted actions to address them.

Belonging: Our Employee Resource Groups

AlixPartners Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led and executive-sponsored networks that promote an inclusive and supportive environment, support recruitment and retention of colleagues with diverse backgrounds, and enhance employees’ professional and personal development.

The ERGs bring our D&I commitment to life - and nearly 50% of our firm is engaged with at least one group. Through the ERGs, employees develop mentorship networks, provide peer coaching, establish new strategic relationships with external partners, and help AlixPartners update its policies and practices. In many ways, the ERG members also raise important topics for conversation inside the firm and among our leadership.

Inextricably tethered to our Core Values, the ERGs recognize the mix of individuals in our Firm and help us all understand their unique characteristics and experiences. As a result, we are better able to serve clients with diverse and inclusive teams, as well as create a climate where individuals feel they are involved and empowered.

COMMITMENTS FROM OUR EMPLOYEE GROUPS

Signing the UK Armed Forces Covenant

AlixPartners is pleased to support the Armed Forces community by signing the UK Armed Forces Covenant - a promise by the nation that those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly.

The Covenant reads in part, "To those who proudly protect our nation, who do so with honour, courage, and commitment, the Armed Forces Covenant is the nation’s commitment to you."

"We signed the Covenant as an important and visible representation of our commitment to hire, train and support veterans in the workforce, and the families of those in active service."

- Annalis Jovinsdottir, Office Manager, London, and member of the Military & Veterans Advocate Network

Supporting LGBTQ+ Rights

AlixPartners is a member of the Business Coalition for the Equality Act, a group of leading U.S. employers supporting U.S. federal legislation that would provide the same basic protections to LGBTQ+ people as provided to other protected groups under federal law.  The bill also extends to housing, credit, jury service, usage of public space, and usage of public services.

Together the companies that form this coalition have a combined $4.7 trillion in revenue and employ over 11 million people.

This is one way that AlixPartners affirms our dedication to LGBTQ+ issues in the workplace and the importance of promoting inclusion.

Encouraging girls toward STEM education

In honor of International Women’s Day, AlixPartners employees formalized our partnership with Michigan Council for Women in Technology (MCWT), s a southeastern Michigan organization that supports networking, volunteerism, education, mentorship and more for women in technology, with the goal of making Michigan the #1 state for women in Tech.

Since our IT department is based in the area, along with many of our consultants, this partnership gives our teams - men and women - a chance to be part of the scholarship awards given by MCWT to ecourage and mentor girls in STEM areas of study and exploration.

AlixGives Diversity & Inclusion Las Vegas 2019

AlixGives back to Las Vegas

Each of our eight employee resource groups selected a local charity that is doing work "when it really matters" for others. We left a legacy of technology, nutrition, health and hygiene – for more than 15,000 people and their families.

AlixGives back to Operation Backpack

AlixGives to Operation Backpack

Our Working Parents employee resource group supports Operation Backpack Volunteers of America - Greater New York by contributing new backpacks full of grade-specific supplies to thousands of children living in New York City homeless and domestic violence shelters.  A new, full backpack can make the difference between the children feeling excited to go to school versus not wanting to go at all.

AlixPartners Local Team Volunteer Day

Our Finance team volunteered at Forgotten Harvest, which delivers 138,000 pounds of surplus food per day to local charities six days a week. The team did some really intense work including removing rocks and thorough spring cleanup.

TOP PLACE TO WORK FOR WOMEN

"Women’s employee groups are often targeted towards how to work better, more effectively and more efficiently. This can miss the whole story, particularly if you are at the stage of your life and career where you may need to take a step back. Contracting breast cancer profoundly changed my life, not just my career.

"When I recovered and returned to work I organised a session with our Women’s Empowerment Employee Resource Group (ERG) featuring an expert who advised on simple actions to prevent breast cancer and the signs to look out for. I contributed my personal story to the event, alongside others.

"Those who attended the session found it informative and practical and I found it a warm, supportive and open session. Career choices are not just about ‘leaning in,’ they are also about considering health and family matters. I feel really positive that I was involved in such an impactful initiative which helped me and those I work with.

"At AlixPartners employees can come up with good ideas, which are then sponsored by senior members of the business and quickly driven to effective action."

- Candice Constance, Director, Operations-EMEA

BRING YOUR WHOLE SELF TO WORK

Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to our core values. We recognize the value diversity brings both to our personal experiences in the workplace and to the quality and strength of the advice we bring to our clients.

We create and encourage environments that support awareness, learning, and the open exchange of ideas between colleagues and with our clients.  This happens through a variety of initiatives and training - many of which are led by groups of our employees.

These Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) run programs for education, networking and community service.  See the full list of our ERGs below.

Employee resource groups: why they matter

Corporate social responsibility is deeply embedded in our culture, values, and principles.

We leverage our people and our financial resources to tackle social issues in the communities where we live and work, through our firm-wide philanthropy program, AlixGives.

All AlixPartners employees are encouraged to get involved through our volunteer program and have 8 hours per year of volunteer time off.

Just a few of our recent activities from around the world are below.

The AlixPartners Foundation

Since 2010, the AlixPartners Foundation has been providing financial and people support to good causes in the local communities where we work. The foundation also provides longer term structured donations, supporting a given charity over several years, to provide medium/long term donation stability for the charity to deliver a specific project. Here are some of the charitable initiatives the

AlixPartners Foundation is supporting:

  • Birkbeck Compass Project reaches out to refugee and asylum seeker communities to access education in the UK.
  • North and South London Cares is a community network of young professionals and older neighbors hanging out and helping one another in our rapidly changing city.
  • Mancunian Way an anti-social behavior reduction charity for Greater Manchester; reducing ASB, youth nuisance and crime, supporting the community.
  • Friendship Works UK’s oldest mentoring charity, improving the emotional well-being and life chances of disadvantaged youngsters in London. Part of the national charity Family Action
  • London Music Masters Providing high quality music tuition in some of London’s most socio-economically challenged boroughs to develop children’s sense of worth, commitment and broad achievement

AlixPartners specializes in:

  • Management consulting
  • Strategic planning
  • Corporate restructuring
  • Go-to-market strategies
  • Business growth and performance improvements
  • Accelerated business transformation

8 Employee Groups Support Diverse Teams

Inclusion is a firm initiative, but it is led and lived by our people every day, particularly through our employee resource groups.

ALIXPARTNERS NAMED A Top Place to Work for LGBTQ+

AlixGives: What a Day charity event in South Africa
