If you love to shop, you will love to shop come summertime. The average shopper will find a wealth of product at highly reduced prices (especially non-essentials like clothing). Inventory levels for retailers are sky high, and many retailers cannot even fit all of their product in their distribution centres. In order to help build down this mountain of supply, retailers will likely discount heavily in order to stimulate demand and come back to a nice harmonious way of doing commerce.
Once the shop doors are open and consumers flood the stores with their renewed sense of freedom, a discounting war will begin. We will likely see multiple waves of discounts from retailers. While selling clothes at a high discount is far from ideal for retailers, hopefully it is enough to generate some cash and keep many of the stores and brands we love afloat.
