AlixPartners’ Emily Harte and Josiah Brand announced as winners of the M&A Advisor’s 7th annual Emerging Leaders Awards

Through these awards, The M&A Advisor recognizes leading turnaround, M&A, and financing professionals who have reached a significant level of success and made a notable contribution to their industry and community.

Emily Harte is a Director based out of Chicago. She has an extensive background delivering strategic solutions for distressed or underperforming companies in complex turnaround situations. Emily has advised debtor and creditor groups in both in-court and out-of-court corporate restructurings. Her experience designing and implementing sustainable financial and operational improvements extends across multiple industries. Emily earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds an MBA with concentrations in accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, strategic management, and general management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She is active in AlixPartners' recruiting, team-building, and practice development efforts, and she is involved in a number of community and charitable organizations.

Josiah Brand is a Vice President based out of New York. He is currently an integral member of the team working on the highly publicized $9 billion turnaround and restructuring of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA). He is responsible for cash flow and liquidity management, and leads the operational transformation work stream, which is modernizing and standardizing the authority's procurement, warehousing, and vehicle fleet management practices. Josiah earned a Bachelor of Science in economics with concentrations in finance and accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds an MBA through the executive MBA program of Columbia University and the London Business School. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, Josiah served for four years as a US Marine Corps platoon commander, during which time he led combat engineer platoons on deployments to various countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
