08 July 2020

NEW YORK (July 8, 2020)— AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, announced updates to its Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) leadership.

From July 1, Elton Ndoma-Ogar, Director, AlixPartners, will assume the global role as Head of D&I, reporting to Don Schneider, Chief People Officer. Since joining the firm in September 2019, Elton has made a significant contribution to D&I, leading the development of the firm’s first-ever integrated D&I Learning and Development and Supplier Diversity programs, as well as aligning the Americas and Asia D&I 2020-21 action plans with the global strategy. As announced in September 2019, the firm will continue to build its D&I Center of Excellence to establish the firm as a best-in-class organization for inclusion and diversity, in partnership with the firm’s regional leaders. Elton will now lead the next phase of our D&I transformation strategy.

Cindy Godwin, who led the establishment of AlixPartners’ D&I Center of Excellence, will turn her focus to refining the firm’s CSR strategy, and how our impact will contribute to solving the significant when it really matterssm people challenges facing the world today. As Head of Social Responsibility, Cindy will partner with Elton and our regional and local market leaders to accelerate the long-term impact we can have on D&I in the economy and society. She has also taken on a pro-bono UK Country Chair role with the NGO Global Dignity with a mission to work with their executive director and Board to design Dignity in the Workplace—partnering business education with community inclusion.

“As we continue to evolve our impact with D&I and CSR, these developments are further evidence of our commitment to foster a work environment where all our people feel welcomed and valued, our responsibility to do the right thing for our clients, and to contribute significantly to the communities in which we live and work,” said Don Schneider, Chief People Officer, AlixPartners.

Note to editors:
In 2015, AlixPartners launched a D&I taskforce under the volunteer stewardship of Managing Director Holly Etlin and 10 committed advocates from across our business functions and regions. In 2016, we launched our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to enable shared interest groups to work together to foster a diverse, inclusive workplace that aligns with our mission and core values. In 2017, Cindy Godwin was appointed Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Social Responsibility as the firm’s first full-time employee in this area, joined shortly after by Chad Schwarz as D&I Lead for our ERGs. Managing Director Don Schneider joined the firm in May 2018 as Chief People Officer, thereafter establishing several People Centers of Excellence which grew to include a D&I pillar in January 2019. Elton Ndoma-Ogar became the first external hire into the D&I team in September of that year.

The firm’s D&I strategy encompasses three pillars: Engage Leadership, Open the Culture, and Expand the Employee Base. More than 50% of the individuals in the firm participate in at least one ERG, illustrating the grassroots engagement of both our leaders and our workforce, and the depth of commitment to integrate D&I into the fabric of the firm. Our ERGs are open to all: Asian Leadership Insights & Growth, Black Professionals Network, Hispanics or Latinos of AlixPartners, Military and Uniformed Services Team, NextGen, PrideMatters, Working Parents and Women’s Empowerment Matters.
