AlixPartners strengthens growing Australian office with new senior appointment

Sydney, 28 September 2026 – AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, today announced the appointment of David Ellis as a Partner & Managing Director in the firm’s Performance practice as the firm continues to scale and strengthen its offering across Australia. 

David is a transformation and turnaround specialist with over 25 years’ of experience helping organizations accelerate growth, harness AI and emerging technologies, and navigate complex business challenges.
His experience spans direct business leadership, C-suite and Board advisory, and interim executive roles during periods of transformation, disruption and growth, where he has consistently delivered financial performance improvement, value creation, and transformative technology change.

David joins AlixPartners from IBM Consulting, where he was Managing Partner for the Australian business, leading a team of more than 1,000 colleagues through its recent, successful turnaround. Prior to this, he held various local, regional, and global roles as a Partner at Bain & Company and a Managing Director at Accenture. 

At AlixPartners, David will play a central role in supporting the firm’s continued growth in Australia as it executes its expanding pipeline of mandates and continues to build its presence in the market. His appointment forms part of the firm’s strategic growth plans for Australia and follows the additions of Felicity Edwards, Max Albrecht and Maximilian Fischer-Muriyadan to the Australian team as Directors earlier this year.
