S. Sita Sonty, Seasoned Space Executive and Strategy Expert, Joins AlixPartners’ Aerospace & Defense Practice

NEW YORK (September 10, 2024) - AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of S. Sita Sonty as a Partner & Managing Director. Sonty brings a wealth of experience to the firm’s Aerospace, Defense & Aviation practice, strengthening its expertise in several critical areas, including the space sector and the increasingly disruptive global business environment companies are competing in. Sonty will be based in the firm’s Washington, DC office.

Sonty previously held key roles at several influential and innovative companies, including SpaceX, Raytheon, and Sierra Nevada Corp. She also spent several years at the U.S. State Department, serving in a variety of roles. Immediately prior to joining AlixPartners, Sonty was chief executive of Space Tango, where she executed a three-year growth strategy in nine months and established the company as a leader in space-based health and technology manufacturing.

Her expertise is further demonstrated by her work as a Partner & Associate Director at Boston Consulting Group, where she advised aerospace and defense clients on strategy, technology roadmaps, and operating models. Additionally, S. Sita Sonty is a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Geo Tech Center, a board member of Women in Aerospace, and a lecturer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Sonty holds a master’s in international relations and international economics from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s from Amherst College.
