Axel is an experienced consultant and executive manager with three decades of experience in guiding clients in every industry sector through corporate turnarounds and transformations.

His clients appreciate Axel’s pragmatic approach towards solving complex stakeholder situations, which he has demonstrated on cases across EMEA and the Americas as a consultant or in an executive role.

Axel co-heads the EMEA Turnaround and Restructuring team. Prior to joining AlixPartners, he founded an internet company, grew it, and then sold it to an industrial investor. He started his career as audit manager at a Big Four company.

Axel holds a doctorate in macroeconomics from the University of Muenster, Germany, is co-editor of a book on stakeholder management in restructurings, and frequently speaks at conferences and on panels.
