Following her time at a boutique Los Angeles-based international consulting firm, Thora transitioned to AlixPartners in 2021, to drive forward innovative processes within the Turnaround & Restructuring Practice, specializing in bankruptcy case management.

Key Engagements:

  • Thora has led the contingency planning team for numerous large corporations, most recently Party City Corporation and Aeromexico.  Managed the bankruptcy process from start to finish, including preparation of first day motions, preparation of financial and operating information required by the Court, developed processes for accounts payable cut offs, contracts review and assessment process, and claims resolutions and distributions. 

  • Served as interim CFO and Chief Restructuring Consultant for a leading memory chip supplier with $3 billion in revenue by directing all aspects of the Chapter 11 process—including cash flows, SOALs, SOFAs, MORS, claims administration, and contract assumptions—and preparing financial, liquidation, and preference analyses.

  • Engaged to review and evaluate hundreds of thousands of line items and perform complex calculations to determine estimated damages resulting from certain avoidance actions and preferential payments in excess of $1 billion in claims, including acting as expert witness in the cases.

  • Engaged as bankruptcy consultant for an apparel manufacturer and retailer; led team of consultants in cleanup of company’s accounts payable records and accounts payable cutoff procedures between pre and post-petitions; prepared SOALs, SOFAs, and MORs.
