After thirteen years of experience working in the nuclear industry on diverse fields such as materials, non-destructive testing, hydrogeology and radioactive waste management and more than ten teaching electromagnetism, solid state and energy, Julian has joined AlixPartners.

Julian is a problem solver, learning lover and a gentle leader. He has a bachelor’s degree in applied sciences and two post graduate degrees in non-destructive testing and radiochemistry and nuclear applications. He has extensive experience in underground water flow and radiation transport modeling as well as in software development and data science. He has grown from pure back-end to full-stack developer and became the Technical Lead for ECVT in AlixPartners.

In his free time Julian spends time with his two sons, plays videogames and contributes to open-source projects such as OpenPandora and MisterFPGA.

Quality in a product or service is not what the supplier puts in. It is what the customer gets out and is willing to pay for. A product is not quality because it is hard to make and costs a lot of money, as manufacturers typically believe.

Key Engagements and Career Highlights:

  • Worked as a Tech Lead and a full-stack (Vue.js and Laravel) developer on ECVT.
  • Used historical data from RTLA projects to create AI models for taxonomy mapping and to create and analyze RPMs.
  • Used benchmark dataset curation and KPI analysis to estimate structure improvement opportunities and costs in the OutsideIn service.
  • Provided services to CONUAR (Argentine Nuclear Fuels) in gas chromatography analyzing Hydrogen content in Uranium Oxide pellets.
  • Worked for CNEA (Argentine Commission on Atomic Energy) leveraging Monte Carlo methods for dose rate and shielding estimation.
  • Performed safety assessments of radioactive waste storage facilities through hydrologic balances and underground water flow modeling for PNGRR (Argentine Radioactive Waste Management Program). Also worked on radioactive waste inventory estimation using gamma spectrometry data, dose rate data and MCNP simulations
