Patrick has a finance background. He started his career in the oil industry and worked through all the functions of finance from accounting to FP&A, control, and then chief financial officer. He then became engaged in performance improvements projects by transforming businesses, resolving organizational issues, and outsourcing parts of the finance function.
He led a complete organizational restructuring and turnaround program, acting as a general manager (GM) deputy in the biscuits industry by designing a to-be structure model, defining the restructuring process, making proposals on human resources benefits to ease the social plan process, and negotiating conditions with employee representatives and works councils. The client also benefited from Patrick’s participation in reshaping the firm’s commercial and marketing strategy to improve the top line and, subsequently, the bottom line.
Patrick has a master’s degree in finance and control from ESSEC Business School, completed by an ESSEC Executive MBA. He teaches finance at ESSEC and is a mentor for start-ups by working with them on ideation, business models, financial business plans, and negotiations with investors.
