Steve Mangal is a senior leader in AlixPartners' M&A practice with more than 20 years of experience helping clients manage the operational, organizational, and execution challenges that arise during complex transactions. He advises corporate and private equity clients across diligence, pre-close planning, separation, integration, restructuring, and post-close execution, with a focus on driving speed, minimizing disruption, and capturing value.

His work sits at the intersection of transaction complexity and operational change, where he helps clients bring structure to ambiguity, align stakeholders around difficult decisions, and move from strategy to implementation with confidence. Across acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, integrations, and restructuring situations, he is known for building practical plans, establishing credible governance, and helping organizations execute successfully.

His representative experience includes helping lead a multi-billion-dollar serial divestiture program for a Fortune 100 mining equipment OEM following an $8.6 billion acquisition; leading one of three divestiture PMOs for an $8 billion global IT services separation spanning 70 countries and 120,000 employees; co-leading finance integration planning for a $26 billion merger; and directing procurement integration and synergy planning for a $2 billion global real estate merger involving $30 billion in external spend.

Steve has also led the separation and sale of two global business units for a medical device producer, designed and stood up the finance function for a $500 million carve-out, led operations integration and synergy planning for a $2.5 billion global automotive acquisition, and supported due diligence and value creation planning for multiple private equity transactions. Across these engagements, he is valued for combining practical operating judgment with disciplined execution to help clients achieve transaction objectives under demanding timelines.

He holds an MBA from the Ivey School of Business in London, Ontario, and is a certified Project Management Professional with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
