Cicely LaMothe is a Partner at AlixPartners who specializes in advising clients on their accounting and financial reporting. Prior to joining AlixPartners in 2026, Cicely spent more than two decades at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
At the SEC, Cicely held progressively senior roles in the Division of Corporation Finance, the division responsible for reviewing all corporate filings made with the SEC, including annual and quarterly reports, registration statements, and proxy materials. She culminated her government career as the Acting Director of the Division of Corporation Finance, where she led a team of more than 350 accountants and attorneys and oversaw the SEC's program that review IPOs, M&A transactions, exempt offerings, and periodic reports.
At AlixPartners, Cicely helps public and pre-IPO companies navigate disclosure, financial reporting, and capital markets issues. She understands what companies face at key transition points — whether they are preparing to enter the public markets, operating as a public company, or evaluating a move back to private ownership — as well as the ongoing reporting expectations that come with public-company life. Drawing on more than two decades at the SEC's Division of Corporation Finance, Cicely brings a practical understanding of how SEC rules, accounting standards, risk considerations, and governance expectations come together in real-world situations.
