Over nearly twenty years a restructuring advisor and consultant, Eric has been guiding clients through the creation and implementation of transformational turnaround programs. Working collaboratively with management teams, he has developed expertise in strategic reviews, business plan development, recovery modeling, liquidation analyses and creditor negotiations across a range of industries in consensual and contested situations.

Key Engagements and Career Highlights:

  • Developed business plan and related analyses for NPC International at the individual store level for 1,600 restaurants to identify underperforming Pizza Huts for closure and support NPC’s subsequent 363 sale, which successfully transferred the remaining stores to six different buyers, resulting in a 90 cent recovery for first lien creditors.
  • Supported the Local Bondholder group in the Latam Airlines Chapter 11 case, including review of the Debtors' business plans and the potential network and cost synergies of Azul's proposed merger.
  • Oversaw the lease renegotiation workstream for Cyxtera Technologies, which generated meaningful value for creditors by rejecting three underutilized facilities with minimal customer impact, obtaining termination options for several marginal sites, and reducing cash rent across the portfolio, all of which contributed to maximizing the proceeds of Cyxtera's $773mm section 363 sale to Brookfield.
  • Analyzed fleet and network options to support continued growth at Virgin America; based on project findings, Virgin America was able to raise the required capital to avoid Chapter 11 and generate a successful exit for stakeholders.
  • Led network profitability modeling for Hawaiian Airlines’ damages claim in Chapter 11-related breach of contract litigation against Mesa Air Group, estimating passenger load declines and revenue impacts due to Mesa’s entry to the interisland market; Hawaiian was awarded the full present value of calculated damages (nearly $90mm at the time).
  • Built recovery waterfall and liquidation analysis for intercreditor negotiations in the Sungard AS restructuring, contributing to delivery of a consensual Plan for a fast, cost-effective prepackaged filing; also developed revenue forecast for the Sungard business plan based on historical sales conversion from pipeline.
  • Developed business plan and related analyses for Riverbed Technology’s fully consensual straddle prepackaged plan and capital raise, built the liquidation analysis for the Disclosure Statement, and reviewed business risk, tax and lease rejection aspects of the costs and benefits of in-court vs. out-of-court strategy.
