Iona is a specialist competition economist, and has led major projects for competition authorities, lawyers, and companies. She has extensive experience in the application of competition policy and the assessment of competition across a range of sectors including transport, financial services, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. She brings direct experience of working on analyses of market definition, market power, abuse of dominance, agreements, and barriers to entry. She also has expertise in estimating consumer harm and damages created by a variety of behaviors and market structures, such as cartels and mis-selling. Iona holds an MSc Economics from the London School of Economics and a BSc (First) in economics and French from the University of Birmingham. Iona also spent a year studying economics at the Sorbonne in Paris.
