Iona is a competition economist with almost 20 years of experience in advising clients on competition and regulatory matters. Iona has an established reputation for delivering rigorous economic analysis for clients—in particular with respect to anticompetitive agreements, abuse-of-dominance infringements, and associated private damages claims. She has wide experience estimating damages in the context of both group claims and CPOs. Recent cases include trucks, forex, and automotive bearings. Iona has also advised clients in complex market investigations including secondary ticketing, credit reference agencies and loan syndication.
Iona is a founding member of the leading women’s antitrust network (W@CompetitionUK) and has written and spoken widely on competition matters. In 2019, 2020 and 2021, Iona was named by Who’s Who Legal as a Future Leader as an expert in the field of competition economics for her "sound and thorough analysis" and for being a "down-to-earth economist who does not blind you with economist science". Iona has a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics.
