Richie has more than 25 years of experience in providing forensic accounting, investigative, dispute consulting, and auditing services. 

He has represented companies, boards of directors, audit and creditors’ committees, and lenders. Richie also has extensive experience in providing forensic accounting, expert-witness, and litigation-related services in bankruptcy cases and distressed-company situations.

His wide-ranging industry experience is in energy, financial services, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, media and communications, real estate, and residential-mortgage-backed securities. Richie has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Fordham University. He is a certified public accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and is AICPA certified in financial forensics. CPA, CFE, CIRA, and certified in financial forensics by the AICPA.

Key Engagements:

  • Forensic accountant and testifying expert to the Special Committee of the Board of Directors of Purdue Pharma Inc. Testimony and analyses included the identification and quantification of more than $10 billion in cash transfers of value made by the Debtors to or for the benefit of parent entities, shareholders and/or Sackler Family members, and/or any other entity in which beneficial owners or Sackler Family members own a controlling interest.
  • Forensic accountant and testifying expert to the Independent Directors of Mission Company’s Board of Directors. Testimony and analyses included the quantification of potential causes of action against insiders and third-party lenders.
  • Issued expert report relating to tracing the amount of funds flowing through and remaining on deposit in certain bank accounts by applying the Lowest Intermediate Balance Test / Rule (LIBT or LIBR).
  • Issued expert report and declaration analyzing a company’s financial ability to pay a large civil judgment.
  • Forensic accountant in white-collar crime cases involving allegations of fraud, embezzlement, misappropriation of assets and money laundering.
  • Forensic accountant in SEC enforcement actions involving allegations of accounting fraud, insider trading and selling of unregistered securities.
  • Represented numerous special committees and official committees of unsecured creditors and bondholders in highly complex chapter 11 cases.
