On Monday morning, and in the company of several colleagues, I will once again be joining business leaders, politicians, campaigners and influencers at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos. In what will be its 50th year, the WEF continues to provide a unique opportunity for analysis, debate and action as regards many of the most fundamental issues facing business and society at large. This year is no exception, as the agenda focuses on “Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World” and contends that we are living in a time where, in the words of the WEF, “political and social cohesion are increasingly absent”.
I agree with this assessment and see this lack of cohesion as one of several major factors which is having an increasingly disruptive impact on our world.
