UK Merger Control: Law and Practice, 3rd edition (November 2016)

Ben Forbes, Mat Hughes and Rameet Sangha are co-authors of UK Merger Control: Law and Practice, third edition, described as “the fully updated definitive statement of the law relating to merger control in the UK”.

The authors reviewed over 400 UK merger decisions since April 2010 and contributed two chapters to the book:

• Chapter 6 on Assessing the Risk of a Reference: an explanation of the key factors to consider in analysing the risk that a merger will be referred for a full Phase 2 investigation
• Chapter 9 on Substantial Lessening of Competition: this explains how industrial economics principles are used to evaluate the competitive impact of a merger
