AlixPartners appoints former CMA Data & Technology Chief to lead new Behavioural Economics & Technology Evidence team
LONDON (3rd December, 2025) - AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, has appointed Stefan Hunt as a Partner & Managing Director to lead its newly created Behavioural Economics & Technology Evidence team, as part of its broader and market leading economics consulting offering. Stefan joins AlixPartners from Keystone Strategy, where he was Head of Advanced Technology Services in Europe, and prior to that, he held the role of Chief Data & Technology Insight Officer at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
Stefan brings over 25 years of experience in behavioural economics, data and technology. He acts as an expert witness in competition and broader commercial litigation, as well as helping clients navigate digital regulation and providing support in wider regulatory submissions. Stefan has extensive experience in consumer protection matters and was instructed earlier this year on the largest consumer matter being pursued by the CMA. His work spans markets from AI and other digital products to financial services, ticketing, news and publishing and more.
This key appointment further advances the firm’s growing economics consulting offering, coming on the heels of former CMA Deputy Chief Economist Julie Bon joining the firm as a Senior Advisor in the summer.
Iona McCall, EMEA Co-Leader of Economics Consulting and Partner & Managing Director at AlixPartners, commented:
“Stefan is one of the UK’s leading behavioural economics and technology experts and we are delighted to welcome him into the firm at this exciting time of growth. His expertise will be critical in building our new Behavioural Economics & Technology Evidence team, an increasingly important area of our work in both litigation and regulation. In particular, he joins us at a pivotal time for consumer protection, given the CMA’s significant focus on this area in the form of eight ongoing investigations.”
