A recent survey by AlixPartners found that U.S. shoppers are experiencing “discount burnout” ahead of Black Friday: the significance consumers place on low prices has dropped around 13 % year-over-year, and 30 % fewer shoppers now rank finding the best deal as “very important.” Instead, people are shifting their focus to value, quality, consistent pricing, and in-store experience, suggesting that retailers relying solely on discounts may find them a less effective trigger this holiday season.
