John has over 25 years of experience helping clients solve complex financial and operational problems. He has served in a number of hands-on leadership roles in challenging and urgent situations as an advisor and in interim management roles, including CFO, CRO, and Treasurer.

His work with the firm has centered on resolving both operational and financial issues, such as transaction, restructuring or audit completion, in a timely manner for clients spanning multiple industries.

Specifically, John's extensive client experience has been in leading completion of audits, liquidity management, complex FP&A projects, improving financial controls, treasury and financial / management reporting, communication with boards and key stakeholders regarding financial performance, completion of financial restatements, the development of business plans and cash forecasts, the development and implementation of performance improvement programs and plans of reorganization, the leading of cost reduction efforts, contingency planning, asset sales and divestitures, and outsourcing functions such as collections.

John has an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, a BA from Northwestern University and is a CPA licensed in the State of Illinois.

  • CFO of an electronic consumer products company. Led business plan development, liquidity, cash forecasting and accounting restatement efforts. ​
  • CFO of SaaS software company—led company through successful completion of a highly complex audit.​
  • CFO of College of DuPage—led efforts to manage liquidity, improved reporting to the board and evaluated and improved financial controls. ​
  • CRO of a medical device equipment company. Managed liquidity and assisted Company in selecting strategic options.​
  • Reddy Ice—Senior VP of Finance. Assisted with fresh start accounting and development of business plan model, liquidity forecasts and improved board reporting.​
    VP of Restructuring Levitt & Sons, a major homebuilder. ​

Led significant accounting / finance related projects relating to carve outs and other transactions:​

  • At GGP / Howard Hughes Corp., led team to work with client and other professionals to establish corporate infrastructure for a newly created public company carve-out with ~$2 billion of assets. ​
  • Advised a large private equity fund on the creation of a new company and the acquisition of several cosmetics brands. Work resulted in successful day 1 launch of accounting and finance related departments. ​
  • Advised a private fund on the purchase of a Canadian retail chain, supported new CFO post carve-out including establishment of finance organization and business planning and forecasting.
