Matt is a retail strategy and operations expert with over 26 years of experience. He advises clients on growth, transformation, and turnaround – from strategy to execution – with a focus on driving significant enterprise value improvements. Matt co-leads AlixPartners’ global grocery practice.
He has expertise in a range of areas, including operational effectiveness (pricing, assortment and category strategy, COGS and indirect spend), M&A/transaction support (strategy, diligence, regulatory matters, and postmerger integration), and revenue/margin growth (customer experience, format strategy, footprint optimization).
He has advised retail/consumer and services clients in litigation and bankruptcy matters, including serving as an expert witness.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in ecology and evolutionary biology from Princeton University. Prior to AlixPartners, Matt was a principal and partner of KPMG, and a partner of Oliver Wyman (formerly Mercer Management Consulting).
