Ramzi is an advisor and strategist to CFOs and other C-suite level executives who has helped deliver operational improvements to healthy and financially troubled companies.
He has a reputation for challenging C-suite level executives in adopting innovative business transformation solutions and implementing sustainable top line and EBITDA improvement programs for clients. He has helped clients across different industries and works very closely with Private Equity (PE) firms in delivering pragmatic and actionable results across all stages of the PE investment lifecycle.
His focus has been on improving operations across the G&A and Corporate IT functions and has supported multinational clients in implementing sustainable operational structures while maintaining their growth and profitability visions. He has helped CFOs re-design efficient and effective Finance organization across different scenarios as part of cost reduction plans, in-organic and organic growth strategy, and carveout deals. His experience includes managing complex program transformations, supporting clients in their M&A, divestiture, and carveout efforts, designing and implementing Global Business Services and Outsourcing models, enabling Digital and Intelligent Automation capabilities, re-engineering global processes, and designing and implementing Product Lifecycle Management Models.
Ramzi has implemented best-in-class operating models by leveraging levers such as outsourcing, internal captive design, AI and automation deployment, and third party spend optimization. In addition, he has helped clients conduct bottom-up build of their Finance functions by enhancing their spans, eliminating shadow functions, and aligning on a set of enabling technologies to support a set of standard processes and policies. During design and implementation, Ramzi has helped clients in designing Record to Report, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, FP&A, Payroll, across multiple geographies and US and International BUs/legal entities. He also specializes in formulating commercial arrangements with BPO providers and setting up governance and control frameworks to ensure sustainability and value realization for multi-national corporations.
Ramzi has a Master of Science from Cornell University and an MBA from Rutgers University.
Relevant Experience:
- Led the Finance workstream for a $25B media company carve out from a multinational telecommunication company; conducted the due diligence, sign to close, and post close separation activities; key focus areas included (1) conducting a bottom-up build of the Finance functions; (2) designing an implementation roadmap with the goal of achieving quick operational effectiveness and savings efficiencies; (3) designing key Finance Process Design Workbooks including performance metrics, policies and controls; (4) building an enterprise BPO strategy to consolidate BPOs and initiated commercial arrangements with key strategic providers.
- Helped a $5B multi-national company with a varied sports digital platform design a Finance function to support its growth through acquisition of assets; built out potential options for their operating model including their labor footprint, centralization of key functions vs. embedding in the business vs. hybrid captive/outsource arrangement; developed a list of process improvement opportunities; identified areas of potential spans improvement and management consolidation; assembled a high level implementation roadmap.
- Helped a $20B defense contractor implement a new Cost-to-Serve analytical proof of concept solution using a big data platform that integrated 30+ ERPs and legacy systems; led the build of the cost-to-serve solution to help better forecast cost across different operating companies, uncover potential cost optimization opportunities as well as monitor progress of different operating companies costs against set targets.
