Tilak helps retail and technology clients in the areas of operational performance, go-to-market, and revenue growth. Prior to AlixPartners, he developed growth strategies including the strategy for Audible, Amazon’s audio entertainment product. He also provided engineering consulting services to Westinghouse Electric Company. ​

Tilak has an MBA in strategy, marketing, business technologies, and data analytics from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business and a Masters in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

  • Led HR and Legal org. assessments and identified optimization opportunities for a $7-billion technology company. 

  • Led G&A org. assessment and identified optimization opportunities for a $0.5-billion technology company. 

  • Led profitability improvement initiative for a $100 million national brand heavy category of a major US Retailer. Defined assortment strategy, conducted 15 vendor negotiations and identified potential savings of over $6 million.

  • Supported private brand efforts for a $1-billion category of a major US Retailer. Coordinated new supplier discovery, launched RFPs, conducted bid analysis and identified high prospect partners with a potential savings of over $50 million.

  • Performed commercial due diligence for a major PE client’s acquisition in Canada. Built a forecasted sales model evaluating sales pipeline, customer, and product profitability.

  • Supported an operational due diligence identifying synergies across two EdTech companies. Built a non-workforce spend model and identified top-down savings potential.

  • Identified a multimillion-dollar customer acquisition opportunity for Audible across 15 Amazon bookstores. Evaluated multiple subscription service offerings at point of service and recommended introduction of a new service offering with an execution road map.
