Doug is an accomplished strategy and operations leader and advisor with 20 years of experience driving transformational growth and turnaround efforts on behalf of private-equity and public company clients.
Leveraging his unique combination of strategy and operations experience, Doug has led whole company transformation efforts across a wide range of industries, including diversified industrials, aerospace & defense, consumer products, and medical devices. His areas of expertise include commercial and operational due diligence, post-merger integration, revenue and growth strategy, large-scale cost transformations, and demand planning and SIOP implementation.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, Doug held consulting roles with The Boston Consulting Group and served in line management roles with both Danaher and Dover Corporations. He also practiced as a corporate and securities lawyer before completing active duty as a Captain within the US Air Force as a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corps.
Doug holds an MBA with Distinction from London Business School and a JD magna cum laude from The American University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

- Served as President at an autonomous vehicle technology startup serving government and military markets; accelerated ramp up to low-rate initial production by expanding manufacturing capacity 4x while reducing lead time from six months to less than two, implementing work floor safety program and 5S/daily visual management, and executing supply chain strategy to transition from build-to-order to configure-to-order.
- Led strategic and operational turnaround as General Manager of $30M communications satellite components manufacturer; increased operating margin from 13 to 23% to achieve record operating profit while growing bookings more than 15% (2-3x average industry growth).
- Drove operational turnaround as interim COO at $45M distressed privately-held medical device manufacturer; led comprehensive SIOP implementation and sourcing projects that reduced inventory over 20% while increasing gross margins 6.5% and improving on-time delivery from <70% to >90%.
- Led pricing and trade spend optimization for $600M organic protein and nutrition products company; developed pricing recommendations from category and channel price elasticity analyses which were implemented in conjunction with marketing and trade spend reallocation.
- Led operational improvement program at $1B technology services provider; identified clear path to at least 20% reduction in operating expense through change-over time reduction and replacement of legacy offset printing equipment with targeted investment in digital imaging technology.
- Developed post-merger integration plan for the combination of two publicly-traded services and hardware providers (combined market capitalization of $1.7B); targeted 10% in combined cost synergies from re-aligning business units and rationalizing manufacturing and R&D/product development footprint.
- Led PMO function for Fortune 100 IT hardware and software distributor to deliver 12% in combined COGS and operating expense savings.
