Francis regularly works on complex forensic engagements, providing litigation support, audit committee investigations, and compliance assessments across a variety of industries. Prior to joining AlixPartners, he was with EY’s Forensic and Integrity Services Practice in Washington, D.C.
He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a CFA Charterholder. Francis is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Recent Engagements:
- Worked with audit committees and external counsel of multiple publicly traded corporations to investigate allegations made by short sellers; presented findings before the SEC (New York) and DOJ (Northern District of California).
- Supported a client in the TMT industry through the restatement of multiple financial reporting periods, facilitating the company’s compliance with NASDAQ listing requirements.
- Analyzed financial models and underlying supports including mining schedule and economic assumptions for an international mining company in response to SEC’s inquiry regarding impairment charges and disclosures.
- Performed comprehensive financial and medical claim analyses, prepared trial exhibits, and prepared a summary witness in one of the largest federal-healthcare-fraud prosecutions.
- Supported an independent law firm in conducting a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) audit and a broader cultural investigation at a senior military college.
