With more than 17 years of industry and consulting experience in the Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Manufacturing space, Jens has vast expertise in Operations Transformation, Digital Transformation, Manufacturing Footprint Optimization (MFO), Operations Strategy and Target Operating Model design.
Jens’ work does not end with the strategic design of the future operations set-up and the related financial models. He follows through to ensure that the strategy is implemented and full value is delivered, such that his clients are well equipped to drive the transformation independently to completion.
Key engagements:
- Digitally transformed a €44 billion automotive and a €5 billion supplier from strategy through to execution. This included the development of the strategy, business case, implementation roadmap as well as the design and implementation of IIoT-based use cases and platform. Led Strategy, Operations Experts as well as Architects and Developers
- Defined E2E strategy for a €600 million packaging company and a €4 billion heating equipment company covering customer management, supply chain management, production and new products & services
- Supported multiple companies with their Manufacturing Footprint Optimization considering future products, sales and quantities, automation concepts, make vs. buy, capacity & skill requirements, incentives, the financial impact on their P&L as well as the site selection
- Drove significant cost reduction through operational excellence initiatives, most recently for a €5 billion chemical company
- Supported multiple companies selecting their fit for purpose manufacturing related Technology-Stack including MES, IIoT, WMS and QMS. Defined requirements, assessed vendors, developed the business case, drove its implementation
Prior to his career in consulting, Jens worked as a development engineer for TRUMPF - one of Germany’s leading machine tool manufacturers - in Germany and the USA. He was responsible for the development of a high-tech laser.
Jens holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Stuttgart and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
