Denis is a Partner & Managing Director in the Investigations, Disputes & Advisory practice at AlixPartners, and is based in New York. Denis advises and counsels companies on a broad range of complex matters involving investigations, forensic accounting, expert testimony, arbitration, interim management and corporate recovery.

He has more than 40 years of experience in guiding companies through complicated litigations, intricate corporate investigations, and difficult corporate recoveries. Prior to joining AlixPartners, Denis was a Partner at PwC in the firm’s financial advisory services practice.

Denis has a JD from Fordham University School of Law and an MBA in Finance from the University of Maryland. He is a certified public accountant, a member of the bars of the U.S. Supreme Court and New York State, a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, and a member of the American Institute of CPAs. He is certified in financial forensics and a member of the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers. Denis teaches the Principles of Auditing at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business. 

Key Engagements:

  • Represented audit committees, boards of directors, investors, and creditors in numerous types of financial investigations, providing forensic services in connection with internal reviews, legal proceedings, and regulatory investigations. Investigated financial reporting errors and fraud, potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, stock option practices, and related-party transactions.
  • Served as a neutral arbitrator and provided consulting services, including testimony, on behalf of companies involved in arbitration.
  • Provided litigation and dispute consulting in areas of accounting issues, audit failures, financial condition, damage assessment, insurance claims, and construction contract disputes.
  • Provided insolvency, restructuring, and reorganization assistance in sale and wind down of business operations, solvency and liquidation analysis, preference and fraudulent conveyance, collateral reviews, and claim resolution.
  • Provided Interim Management, Trustee and Responsible Person Services. Matters include serving as Court Appointed Receiver, Board Member, Chief Restructuring Officer, Finance and Executive Officer, and Trustee.
