I recently had the opportunity to sit on the judging panel of the Financial Times inaugural “FT 100 Future UK” awards. Comprising representatives from the legal, private equity, and data analysis industries, as well as several FT journalists, the judging panel considered submissions from a wide range of businesses, covering every business sector imaginable. In doing so we were seeking to identify those which are making a positive social or environmental impact, addressing diversity, disrupting their sector or showing consistently fast revenue growth. You can read more about the process, our findings and those companies who achieved the highest rankings here at FT.com.

While each judge contributed his or her views on all four categories under review we each had a designated area of focus. Given my role as a diversity & inclusion champion at AlixPartners and a leader of our women’s employee resource group at the firm, my focus in the judging process was on the subject of diversity.
