As the Global Co-Lead for Operating Model and Org Transformation, Johannes leads large-scale transformation programs across all major industries. He covers all aspects of organizational effectiveness and efficiency - from full company and HQ operating models to functional reorganization and rapid cost reductions, specifically in G&A functions.

Johannes also serves as an Interim Chief Transformation Officer (CTO). In this role, he joins his clients' management team and ensures the sustainable mid- to long-term impact of improvement initiatives, while at the same time driving organizational change.

Before joining AlixPartners, Johannes co-led the Telco, Media & Technology (TMT) practice at a German consulting boutique. Johannes holds a PhD as well as a master’s degree in managerial economics, both from the University of Bamberg, Germany.

Key Engagements:

  • Led and supported several large-scale organizational transformations and G&A cost-out programs in more than 25 countries around the globe.
  • Acted as Interim Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) for a medium-sized German solution provider in the thermal energy efficiency space, including operating model re-definition and EBITDA improvement program.
  • Redefined the operating model across global functions, business units and geographies of an international technology group, including reshaping and streamlining of organizational structure and reduction of G&A cost.
  • Led the definition of a scalable operating model for a hyper-growth company in the renewable energy sector, including rightsizing of the organization and definition of governance and end-to-end processes.
  • Led the operating model diagnostic, (re-)definition of the target operating model and rightsizing of Corporate functions at a multi-billion USD professional services firm
  • Led the reorganization of the Finance function of a large German Automotive OEM, resulting in a net cost reduction potential of 20-30% (personnel & non-personnel expenses)
  • Led the definition of the Go-to-Market (GTM) operating model for a multinational oil, gas and petrochemical company
  • Led the transformation office for the global cost-out program of a Dutch telecommunications provider, focusing on definition, implementation and tracking of USD 1bn cost reduction initiatives (OPEX & CAPEX)
  • Led a two-year global cost optimization program for the services business of a global network provider to achieve P&L effective efficiency gains of >30%
  • Developed several corporate real estate consolidation strategies for multi-billion USD industrials & technology companies
