After 7 years in progressive operations improvement and management roles and 18 years consulting to executives in the financial services industry, Mark joined AlixPartners to lead the continued build out and growth its financial services practice by deploying his large-scale transformation experience.

Mark has led large-scale transformations both in industry and consulting and brings his depth of experience and painful lessons learned to his clients to help them successfully achieve their goals. These transformations include significant mergers and acquisitions, cost-focused business redesign, digitization of the business model, turnarounds, and innovation development and launches. Mark believes successful and sticky transformation is driven by engaged client teams and is passionate about embedding with clients and rallying teams to drive successful transformation outcomes.

Mark has a breadth of experience leading transformations in banking, insurance, wealth management and payments/fintech. As the leader of a $6B acquisition for an insurance client, Mark led the due diligence and stood up and led an integration office, leading to the “most seamless” integration the executive had seen. For another insurance client, Mark assessed the entire cost base, identified incremental opportunities of more than 10%, stood up a cost transformation office, and led workstreams that captured $20M in savings. For a payments client, Mark made a modernization case to the board of directors, helped the company get a $50M digital transformation budget approved, stood up a transformation office and led a workstream that generated $18M in benefit.

A graduate of the Darden School of Business, Mark helps clients structure transformations that drive tangible business results. Outside of work Mark has a passion for the athletics, music, hiking and as a cancer survivor, volunteer work with cancer organizations.
