As Senior Vice President at AlixPartners, Martin guides companies in large operational transformation projects as well as turnaround situations by providing readily implementable strategic and operational advice for clients in the consumer products and retail industry. 

Martin has more than 7 years of global business experience with a specific focus on operations turnaround, accelerated performance transformation and operating model redesign.

He was formerly a managing director with Flink SE and has expertise in performance improvement, organizational restructuring exercises as well as growth and profitability strategies.

Before Martin was a Senior Manager at Bain & Company where he was part/ led numerous projects in the Consumer Products/ Retail space (e.g. value creation plans and growth strategies, development of new business operating models).

Key engagements:

  • Steered and supervised business efforts of one of Europe’s largest third-party quick commerce players achieving full operational profitability on country-level.
  • Planned and executed multiple organizational restructuring exercises (i.e. market exit strategies, reorganizations) for European quick commerce player.
  • Led several major turnaround, operations redesign, and digitization projects, working with international teams in the consumer products, retail and telecommunications industries:
    • For a Swiss grocery retailer, reviewed strategy and set up value creation plan and inorganic growth strategy for food and non-food departments
    • Supported German retailer to develop new strategy to bring back growth and profitability incl. value/ progress tracking and set up of a Transformation Management Office
    • Redesigned and introduced new operating model across Europe for a global tobacco player to enable transition for combustible cigarettes to Reduced Risk Products (RRP) business
    • For a Swiss telecommunications provider, redesigned and implemented key customer journeys, incl. set-up of “customer experience factory”
